March Edition of Good News Monthly

iKhaya Family, We Have Good News!

HOPE has a home! #iamiKhaya

Since we last spoke at the end of Feb, I can update you on a few things we’ve been busy with in March… and invite you to join in!

Please feel free to respond with anything you’d love to see from iKhaya as part of our e-family.

Here are FOUR exciting things happening:

  1. Improved learning outcomes. An iKhaya student who has been struggling at school for the past few years has received a commendation from his teacher for his progress. Since learning about the issues, we have worked 1-2-1 with him in the areas of his struggles and it’s made a difference! Some children can be in a classroom of up to 60 kids, at school. This is the power of small groups at iKhaya - personalised learning.

  2. Thinking out of the box. In this new world we’re all entering, it calls for the next generation to think outside of the box. Our new creative thinking classes for all grades will encourage children to think of different approaches to life situations. Created by our incredible intern Katrine, this new feature to our curriculum seriously will change lives! Have something to contribute to our curriculum - email me!

  3. Rallied support for one of our families. Sadly, one of our iKhaya families lost their home in a township fire. She is a widowed mother to two iKhaya children and we have been able to step in when no one else could. Thank you to all our supporters that stepped up overnight via our Facebook and instagram and donated. This mama now has a roof and walls over her head and it’s all down to our iKhaya family!

  4. Fun class outings. EVERY SINGLE GRADE at iKhaya got an outing this term! From safaris, career tours and a trip to the movies, each iKhaya child got an opportunity for fun and life experience building. We would love to thank the donors that sponsored these events, like the CTICC, the Naar family and the Zinke family. If you have an idea or would like to provide a life-changing trip for our kids, please let me know!

If you’d like to be a part of any of the above, or anything else happening at iKhaya, please feel free to reply or come visit!!

Thank you,

Sara & the incredible iKhaya Team
